A Dillon County man is on life support after he was beaten over the weekend. His family says several bones in his face are broken.
Late Monday afternoon, police arrested the person they say is responsible for the beating. He's Aundra Manning, 26. He's charged with assault and battery with intent to kill.
Police are still trying to determine a motive for the beating.
Hector "Ben" McLean, 56, was hanging out with friends outside this home in the Little Rock community of Dillon County when police say Manning assaulted him.
Sherry McNeil is still having a hard time dealing with what happened to her brother. Ben was beaten against a car and stomped on several times. Sherry says he had to have brain surgery. "He's fighting for his life. He's fighting for his life. It's very hard for me to see my brother in the state that he's in," she said.
Sherry says this is the second time in a year her brother has been assaulted.
Ben survived the first attack and she hopes he can pull through again.
Manning will have a bond hearing Tuesday morning.
Relatives say the McLean is scheduled to have another surgery Tuesday morning.
