A conversation between friends has led a local man to begin a project that helps our soldiers serving overseas.

David Boyd is serving in Afghanistan, and while chatting online with his friend Woody Lynch of Florence, he told him the food was bland and he missed barbeque from home.

Lynch and his father created and market Reverend Marvin's Gourmet BBQ Sauce.

They sent a few bottles to Boyd. They were such a hit, Woody Lynch and his father realized they could brighten soldiers' days with the sauce.

Now the Lynch's are taking donations through their website for Sauce for Soldiers, and they'll send the sauce to our men and women overseas.
