The Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation is changing its rules to get more people involved.
The EDC updated its by-laws Thursday, after some county leaders criticized the agency for being ineffective.
The EDC committee, which did have 10 people on it, will expand to 25 and will include more elected officials and leaders from Coastal Carolina University and Horry Georgetown Technical College.
Chairman Jimmy Yahnis says they made the change to get more community involvement so the EDC would have a better chance of attracting business prospects to the area.
