The Red Cross and NewsChannel 15 are teaming up for our annual summer blood drive on Wednesday, July 28th from 11:00 a.m. To 7:00 p.m.

There are three locations where you can give:

*Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach at Healthfinders.

*Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Conway across from Coastal Carolina University.

*Magnolia Mall in Florence

You can either show up to the drive or you can make an appointment by clicking here and entering the sponsor code WPDE or calling 1-800-RED CROSS. We will have t-shirts for all participating donors at all locations!

Our blood drive this July is in memory of a special friend of NewsChannel 15.

Jo Pike, the Donor Recruitment Representative for the Florence area, passed away July 9 after a courageous battle with cancer. Jo, a wife and mother of four, was a remarkable woman who made an incredible difference in the lives of many.

Born in Farmington, ME, Jo was a daughter of William David Lombard and Janice Lee Jones Lombard of Fairfield, ME. Jo, a graduate of Boothbay Regional High School, was a resident of Marion, SC and a member of Revelation Ministries and Marion Baptist Church where she was the co-director for the children's choir.

Jo was also the co-founder of the National Autism Association as well as President and Executive Director during her tenure with NAA from its incorporation in 2003 through 2005. Jo's youngest son, Hunter, became the inspiration for Jo's advocacy work after he was diagnosed with autism. She worked tirelessly to raise awareness about autism and to honor the children and adults affected by the disorder.

Jo joined the American Red Cross in June 2006 as a Donor Recruitment Representative in the Florence service area and was a tremendous support to the Red Cross family and to patients in need of life-saving blood. Jo always had a smile on her face and a word of encouragement to share.

Survivors are her husband, Greg Pike; a daughter, Taylor, of Marion; sons, Hunter, of Marion, Aaron and Matthew of Augusta, ME; brothers, James (Anne) Lombard of Sandown, NH and Michael Lombard of Fairfield, ME; sisters, Faith Hodgkins of Portsmouth, NH, Deborah (Jeff) Foss of Westport Island, ME and Amy (John) Kohtala of Poland, ME.

Many people's lives have been enriched by knowing Jo, and she will be deeply missed.
