GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Two lions who have lived in a South Carolina zoo are heading back to Maryland.
The Greenville News reported Magi and Dosari will leave the Greenville Zoo to return to their home in Thurmont, Md., Thursday.
Greenville Zoo Director Jeff Bullock says the siblings been born in 2001 at the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo in Thurmont.
Bullock says they had been loaned to the Greenville Zoo as part of the American Zoo and Aquarium Association Species Survival Plan.
Bullock says the zoo expects to get two young male lions from Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia this fall. When they mature, one will be shipped to another zoo and will be replaced by a female.
