Circle Park announced Wednesday it was awarded a $2.1 million grant as part of the Communities Putting Prevention to Work program.
The grant will be used to educate youth and the community about the dangers of tobacco and secondhand smoke exposure. It will also help community agencies, organizations and school districts develop and implement smoke-free and tobacco-free policies.
The grant money will also be used to offer nicotine replacement therapy to Florence County residents who enroll in SC Tobacco Quitline services.
Circle Park says the grant will be used over the next two years and provide funding for local agencies and organizations to support the grant's objectives.
