The board of directors for the embattled Waccamaw Economic Opportunity Council (EOC) met Monday night.
The EOC came under fire and was shut down by the state for not being in compliance with several issues.
The organization provides help for low income residents.
It reopened a month ago.
There have been calls for board members to resign and several have.
Monday night, the board hired two attorneys for legal advice.
"We needed an attorney. The board voted for us to get another attorney. We needed an attorney for the organization due to the fact of everything that's going on," said board member Abdullah Mustafa.
The board also adopted several by-law amendments.
