COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford is heading to Europe on a trade mission.

The trip begins Monday and continues through Friday, including a visit to the Farnborough Airshow near London. There also will be stops in Switzerland, Germany and France.

Officials from the state Commerce Department are accompanying Sanford as are a number of key corporate leaders.

Those industry leaders include the president and CEO of Boeing, Jim McNerney as well as Jim Albaugh, Boeing's executive vice president.

Last year, Boeing broke ground in North Charleston for a $750 million assembly plant for its new 787 jets. It's the biggest industrial investment in South Carolina history.
