A golf cart traveling in the wrong lane was hit by a car early Monday morning on Highway 90, according to Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins with South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Horry County Fire Rescue and Highway Patrol responded to the accident around 2 a.m.
Highway Patrol reports show the driver of the golf cart was using a flashlight as the headlight, crossed the center line and was then hit by the car going in the opposite direction.
The driver of the golf cart was flown to New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Horry County Fire Rescue PIO Leslie Yancey said.
His condition has not been released.
South Carolina law requires golf carts to stay within two miles of the owner's home and restricts golf carts from being driven on primary highways or at night.
