NewsChannel 15 has learned Brady Johnson's case has been continued until next month.
A federal judge granted the continuance during a pre-trial conference last week.
In February, police charged Johnson, 22, with voluntary manslaughter in the death of Officer Matthew Clayton.
Johnson faces federal gun charges in connection with the case because he has a prior conviction and wasn't allowed to carry a gun.
Clayton was shot to death at his home on Cross Vines in Florence County.
He worked for the Florence Police Department and was off-duty at the time.
Police tell us he and Johnson were acquaintances.
Johnson is being held at the Florence County Detention Center.
His bond has been denied three times.
