(AP) -- MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison after he was convicted of killing a man in 2001 and burying his body in a barrel.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reported that Jeffrey Michaelson of Bonneau was convicted of murder Thursday in Moncks Corner.
Thirty-six-year-old Parrish Reeves was reported missing from his home in Cordesville in 2001. State Law Enforcement Division agents dug up Reeves' body in 2007 at Michaelson's former home in Moncks Corner.
Prosecutor Bryan Alfaro says authorities got a tip when one of Michaelson's co-defendants pawned some of Reeves' belongings.
Prosecutors say Michaelson shot Reeves in the head after Michaelson and one of the co-defendants lured Reeves from his home by saying they needed a ride.
