Two people were arrested and charged in connection with a purse snatching near Myrtle Beach over the weekend.

Police say Saturday around 5:30 p.m., officers were called to Tanger Outlet on Highway 501. Police were given a description of a car involved, which was located on Sea Mountain Highway a short time later.

Police arrested both people in the car.

Tara Marie Sweetman, 31, of Sunset Beach, North Carolina, is charged with one count of purse snatching. She is currently in custody at the J. Rueben Long Detention Center.

Oscar Clifton Riley, 32, of Longs, is charged with two counts of purse snatching. After his arrest on July 3, police discovered he was wanted in connection with a purse snatching at a gas station in Little River earlier in the week.

He is currently in custody at the J. Rueben Long Detention Center.
