Saturday marked the one year anniversary that Governor Mark Sanford made national headlines after confessing to having an affair.
Sanford made a teary-eyed confession in June of 2009, as he admitted to having an affair with an Argentine woman.
That came after a several day absence from the state when his own staff did not know his exact whereabouts.
It was first believed that Sanford was hiking on the Appalachian Trail, but we soon learned that he was in Argentina with his mistress.
The scandal put a quick end to Sanford's presidential ambitions, as he was on a list of potential republicans for the 2012 ticket.
Sanford and the First Lady, Jenny Sanford, officially divorced in March of this year.
