There was a welcome home celebration for a military veteran Friday.
Major John Dufresne arrived to a wave of American flags today at the American Legion Hut in Murrells Inlet.
Dufresne has been in Afghanistan since last year.
He says there's nothing like coming back home. "Coming back to the states, it was nice to see something green. It's rather dusty and sandy over there in Afghanistan, but it's good to be back."
Dufresne will be in the states for two weeks before reporting back to Afghanistan.
