Wednesday night, the Georgetown County Republican Party executive committee met and passed a resolution condemning racist comments by state Senator Jake Knotts and called for his resignation.
Knotts recently called Republican gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley and President Barack Obama "ragheads" on an internet political talk show.
Knotts has apologized, but refused to resign.
The Georgetown GOP committee passed the resolution unanimously.
