Press Release - On Saturday, June 26th, the nation will join hands on beaches and in parks and cities across America, united against the dangers offshore drilling present to our oceans and marine wildlife, fishing industries and coastal economies, in Hands Across The Sand.
"The image is powerful, the message simple," said local event organizer Mary Max Neely. "No to offshore oil drilling, yes to clean energy. We are drawing a line in the sand against offshore oil drilling along America's beaches across the nation and around the world. No one industry should be able to place entire coastal economies and marine environments at risk with dangerous, dirty mistakes."
In Myrtle Beach supporters are asked to gather at 11am at Plyler Park located oceanfront at the end of Mr. Joe White Ave., (10th Ave. N) and will silently join hands on the beach at noon for 15 minutes (parking available at the Pavilion Parking Garage and other various lots)
