ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) -- Perfect attendance will mean more than a certificate and pin for one South Carolina high school student.

The Anderson Independent-Mail reported that one Anderson County student with perfect attendance in high school will win a car Saturday from a local dealership.

Piedmont Automotive is giving away a car as part of its "Be present -- Win a present" program. Students in grades 9 through 12 with perfect attendance can win a new Honda Civic, Nissan Sentra or Dodge Caliber SXT.

The dealership's Denise Buchanan says about 75 students have entered so far. One name will be chosen at random.

Buchanan says schools have not yet reported the final number of students with perfect attendance this year. She says more than 230 students were eligible last year.
