The number of absentee votes in Horry County for Tuesday's primaries are reported to be low, the director of the county's election commission said.
Sandy Martin said while her office has had a steady stream of voters, the numbers are still low in comparison to years past and said turnout is generally lower in primaries than in general elections.
By 4:30 Tuesday afternoon, just around 1,150 people had cast an absentee ballot.
"Hopefully it will mean everybody will be in town, and they'll be voting at the polling places tomorrow," Martin said.
Martin said some people are discouraged to vote in primaries because they have to vote straight ticket.
"Being that we don't register by party in South Carolina, they don't like to have to tell you," Martin said. "They just don't like to declare one way or the other. They are afraid it labels them."
Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and to vote, you must present your voter registration card, or a driver's license or a identification card issued by the highway department.
If you don't have a voter registration card, you can visit the Horry County election office between 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and they will give you one.
Also, it's important to check your polling place and precinct, as some of the polling locations have changed since the last election.
