Jersey Mike's Subs held a special check presentation for a program that aids families dealing with autism.

The franchise company made out a check to support "Project Lifesaver" on Friday at the Jersey Mike's Subs in Myrtle Beach.

The Project Lifesaver Program provides personalized wristbands to people with autism. The wristbands emit a tracking signal so they can be found if they get lost or wander off. The wristband has been 100% successful in helping first responders find people.

The Executive Director of Autism Advocate Foundation Amy Gary said, "When we talk about lost of missing children, there are times we talk about days and hundreds of man hours, and many people working towards finding a missing child. When you talk about using a Project Lifesaver along a small team with with 30 minutes of time, it's amazing what this project can do."

Jersey Mike's Subs collected more than $3,000 in donations.
