SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. (AP) -- More than 300 airmen from an F-16 fighter squadron were scheduled to return to a South Carolina air base after a four-month deployment in Iraq.

Members of the 77th Fighter Squadron, nicknamed the "Gamblers," were slated to return to Shaw Air Force Base outside Sumter on Monday.

Shaw's installation deployment officer, 1st Lt. Ashley Everage, says families, friends and Air Force men and women were invited to greet the returning airmen in a hanger set aside for the reunion.

The 77th left in January. The members of the F-16 squadron flew close air support missions for the Army, Navy and Marine Corps units on the ground.
