(AP) -- COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - On life and death issues, South Carolina's Republican candidates for governor say they support overturning a woman's right to an abortion, though two make exceptions. And one Democratic candidate would insist on DNA proof before a convicted felon is executed.

U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett, Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer, state Rep. Nikki Haley and Attorney General Henry McMaster all say they would sign a bill outlawing abortion should the U.S. Supreme Court overturn Roe v. Wade.

Barrett and Bauer say they support health care coverage of abortion in cases of rape, incest and protecting the mother's life.

Only state Superintendent Jim Rex said in cases where DNA evidence was not part of a jury's decision, he would insist DNA tests be done before an execution.
