Thousands of visitors from all over are on the Grand Strand for the holiday weekend.
Many who traveled to the area are enjoying Myrtle Beach's Military Appreciation Days which kicked off with a parade Saturday morning.
A few thousand people spread out over nearly 20 blocks on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle.
Former NASA astronaut Buzz Aldrin was the parade's Grand Marshall.
Most importantly, America's heroes were recognized in the parade, U.S. veterans - from World War II vets to those currently serving.
If you were on some of the area's major roadways you probably noticed the influx of visitors on the Grand Strand.
Perhaps the easiest to spot, and hear, are the bikers in the area for Atlantic Beach Memorial Day Bike Fest.
If you have to get to the north end, South Carolina Highway Patrol advise drivers to avoid Highway 17 as much as possible.
They recommend the alternatives, Highways 90, 22 and 31, for getting from the south end to the north end.
