Surfside Beach Town Council will not award a new contract for the restaurant on the pier owned by the town just yet.

The space has been run by Nibils Restaurant for 20 years, but their lease runs out in December.

Now that the town owns the pier, it is required by law to put the restaurant up for bids.

Tuesday night council revealed the two bidders for the space are Nibils, and Cecil LLC.

Because the bids were incomplete, the council threw both of them out and will start the bidding process over again.
