Testimony resumes Wednesday morning in the trial of a former Marion police officer accused of beating his nine-year-old son.

Freddy McEachern is charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature in the beating of his son.

The state grand jury indicted McEachern in 2006.

He worked for the Marion Police Department for about 10 years, before he was fired that same year.

The Attorney General's office is prosecuting McEachern. His trial is expected to wrap up this week.
