Pee Dee/Grand Strand unemployment numbers down in April

Here's a look at how the counties in our area ranked in terms of jobless numbers in April.

Marlboro County has the highest unemployment rate in the state at 19.5%, but that is down 2% over March.

Marion is second in the state at 18.9%, down 1.7%.

Dillon County is 11th in the state with 14.9%, down 1.1%.

Darlington is 23rd in the state at 11.4%, down 1.6%.

Georgetown is 24th at 11.3%, down 1.7%.

Horry is 27th at 10.9%, down 2.3%.

Florence is the lowest unemployment rate in our area at 10.5%, down 1.3%.

Beaufort County comes in 46th with the lowest rate in the state at 7.3%.
