CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina is providing a restful stop for 42 British servicemen who have been wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Post and Courier reports the servicemen arrived at the Charleston City Marina on Wednesday on three boats.
The servicemen from the British army, air force and navy and some Nepalese troops called Gurkhas are on an around-the-world expedition to help them heal physically and psychologically.
Twelve of those crewing the 67-foot vessels are amputees.
The Gurkhas will leave Charleston for Britain while the rest of the expedition sails for Boston on Sunday.
