The FAA's preliminary report says the aircraft that ended up nose-down on Highway 76 in front of Huggins Memorial Airpark Sunday, ran off the end of the runway after landing.
Pilot Phillip Brown of North Carolina told NewsChannel 15 he got his pilot's licence in 1962 and this was his only accident during his 48 years of flying. Brown was able to walk away uninjured.
