MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- Federal agents are hoping that interviews in several South Carolina cities will help them solve an 8-year-old triple murder in Virginia.

FBI agents are visiting Bennettsville, Conway, Florence and Myrtle Beach this week to talk to people about the killings of the Short family.

Michael and Mary Short were found slain in their Oak Level, Va., home in August 2002. The remains of their 9-year-old daughter, Jennifer, were found six weeks later under a bridge across the border in North Carolina. Each person had been shot once in the head.

Agents say they are coming to South Carolina because the family had been thinking about moving to the state. In the months before his death, Michael Short made several trips to the cities the FBI is visiting.
