A mobile home in Longs was severely damaged in a fire Thursday night.

Firefighters got to the fire on Bills Place in Longs about 7:30 p.m.

They had to put hoses together to stretch about 3,000 feet to get to the fire.

"There's a lot of difficulties with a lot areas. There's a pretty good distance between where the fire hydrant is and a lot of times where the fire is. We prepare to deal with that issue, and water for extinguishing the fire was never a problem," Horry County Battalion Chief John McGarrahan said.

Fire officials say the fire was cause by cooking.

No one in the the mobile home was hurt.
