The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce is working extra hard this week to draw visitors to the Grand Strand.

The chamber has joined hundreds of cities, states and businesses nationwide for the 27th Annual National Travel and Tourism Week. The chamber is celebrating with activities and promotions for those visiting the Grand Strand, to give those on a budget exactly what they want.

"In a down economy, if you're not out there advertising you're going to get lost, especially if you're not out there helping them make buying decisions - like added bonuses or special values. That's what everyone is looking for right now," said Diana Greene, Executive Vice President of Membership Programs.

Each year between 14 million and 15 million tourists visit the Myrtle Beach area. National Travel and Tourism Week runs through May 16th.
