(AP) -- Representative Jim Clyburn supports President Obama on most things, but he tells NewsChannel 15 he doesn't agree with the President's plan for offshore drilling.

Clyburn, the House Majority Whip, says drilling off of the coast of South Carolina could lead to a situation similar to what's happening off Louisiana's coast.

He says, "I do believe that what we saw and are still seeing down at the Gulf Coast could very well play itself out on our South Carolina beaches if we had drilling off the shore of South Carolina, and so I don't want to see that."

Representative Clyburn believes in pursuing alternative energy sources. He says he would support farms of wind turbines off the coast to generate electricity.
