Horry County Fire Rescue is getting part of a federal grant to help with fire prevention.
The close to $10,000 will be used for public education, fire code enforcement, fire inspector certification, and to buy smoke alarms, among other things.
It's part of $2.9 million in grants for South Carolina fire departments.
