NewsChannel 15 obtained the 911 tapes and radio communications from last week's brief police pursuit that turned deadly.
Horry County police said they tried to stop Miguel Murillo, 18, near Forestbrook Road last Tuesday, but police said Murillo led them on a chase instead.
"They're still not stopping. They're running," the officer can be heard telling dispatch.
As the dispatcher asks for the officer's location, he tells her they've passed the Dollar General (on Forestbrook) and are approaching McCormick Road.
"Traffic kind of heavy. Not too terribly heavy, but speed's about 80-85 (mph)," the officer tells dispatch.
Seconds later, the suspect turns onto McCormick Road and crashes head-on with an oncoming SUV.
The passenger in the suspect vehicle, a 15-year-old girl, died in the accident.
Murillo was taken to a hospital, but later released. On Tuesday, he was charged with wreckless homicide along with several traffic offenses.
