The Children's Museum of South Carolina announces the Inaugural Family Fitness Festival presented by Wendy's and Family Kingdom, April 30 - May 1, at the Grand Lake at The Market Common.

The festival will be a two-day celebration of kids, families and physical fitness. Proceeds from the event benefit the Children's Museum of South Carolina and the 2011 Family fitness Festival.

The Family Fitness Festival will feature an all-access wristband with great discounts from area attractions, a 5K and 1-mile race for kid's under the age of 17, a family relay around Grand Lake, a stroller strut for parents to show off their stroller skills, a diaper derby and tot trot for the kids, a chalk walk, family friendly vendors, live entertainment and much, much more.

Admission to the festival is free. However, participants can buy an all-access wristband for $5 that will provide them with the attraction discounts and unlimited play on the inflatables, balloon art and face painting areas. Wristbands are good April 30-May 2, 2010.

The event will also feature a nationally recorded children's band each night of the festival and guests are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the fun.

On April 30, 23 Skidoo (Asheville, NC) will perform at 6:30 p.m. 23 Skidoo is known as the best Kid Hop band in the country and features funky, authentic hip hop beats with fantastical storytelling and positive party rhymes.

On May 1, The Milkshake Band (Baltimore, MD) will perform at 5:30 p.m. Milkshake has won over preschoolers without compromising song craft, stagecraft, or their authentic rock & roll spirit. Milkshake is a celebration of every kid's desire to just have fun. The band covers all the bases, with songs about baseball, bowling, pretending, friendship, inclusion, family, self-esteem and just plain going wild!
