Dozens of people spent Saturday afternoon at The Market Common in Myrtle Beach "Taking Back the Night."
There was plenty to do at Valor Park for the "Families Unite - Take Back the Night" event. The main purpose was to show support to ending violence against women and children.
There were self-defense demonstrations and plenty of information handed out by the Myrtle Beach Police and Fire Departments.
"April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and it's very important that families actually know that we're out here, and if they ever need our services where they can find us," Shanna Scott with the Rape Crisis Center.
