Acting United States Attorney Kevin F. McDonald announced Wednesday that a Federal Grand Jury sitting in Columbia, South Carolina returned an Indictment against Roderick Lemar Green, age 22, and Ryshon Petoez Grate, age 19, both of Loris, charging armed bank robbery and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.
The indictment alleges that Green and Grate robbed the First Palmetto Savings Bank, located at 10207 North Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach on March 5, 2010.
The maximum penalty the defendants could receive is 32 years imprisonment.
The case was investigated by the Horry County Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney A. Bradley Parham of the Florence Office.
Mr. McDonald stated that the charges in this Indictment are merely accusations and that the defendants charged are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
