Organizers of the Bi-Lo Myrtle Beach Marathon say they're pleased with the number of runners who took advantage of a special discount for next year's race.
This year's event was canceled due to snow.
Those who registered and picked up their numbers could sign up for 50 percent off next year's sign-up by March 31st.
Promoter Mike Shank says 1,175 runners signed up by the deadline.
He says that's more than he expected and it says positive things about the popularity of the marathon.
