Two house fires and a number of small brush fires have kept Horry County firefighters busy over the past 24 hours.

Around 12:40 a.m. Sunday, Horry County Fire Rescue responded to a home at 4878 Highway 905 for a fire.

The flames destroyed the home, and a man inside was taken to a hospital but later released.

About eight hours later, a home under construction caught fire in Sago Plantation near Carolina Forest. It burned to the ground, and firefighters said this weekend's winds haven't helped.

Firefighters said they responded to several brush fires on Sunday, including one in the Avalon subdivision of Carolina Forest.

HCFR warns people to be cautious when burning during windy conditions, and they remind anyone burning debris must report it to the SC Forest Commission.
