Attorney General Henry McMaster says Joseph Henry Carroll, V, 22, of Cape Landing Drive in Myrtle Beach, was arrested on March 23 by the Myrtle Beach Police Department for possession of child pornography.
The Myrtle Beach Police Department is a member of the Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Carroll is charged with three counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, 2nd Degree, a felony offense punishable by two to ten years imprisonment on each count.
Carroll is charged with sharing digital videos over the Internet depicting children engaged in sex acts. Carroll's computer was seized and forensically examined by the Myrtle Beach Police Department and files containing those images were found on that computer.
The Horry County Sheriff's Office, also a member of the Task Force, assisted in the case.
Carroll was assigned a bond of $15,000. The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office. McMaster stressed that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
