SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) -- Three University of South Carolina football recruits say they aren't affected by reports of black lawmakers urging players to reconsider because of diversity questions on the school's board.

The Herald-Journal of Spartanburg reported Byrnes High School's Marcus Lattimore and Nick Jones and Boiling Springs High School's Dylan Thompson said Wednesday they were unaware of attempts to get them to change their decision. Lattimore and Jones are black, Thompson is white.

The chairman of the Legislative Black Caucus, Sumter Rep. David Weeks, says he doesn't think there are enough votes to get the only black member of the USC board a full term in office.

Weeks says some in the black community are contacting players, asking them to reconsider their decisions.

No recruit has said he's been contacted.
