HealthPoint plans water safety courses

Pawleys Island, SC- Georgetown Hospital System's HealthPoint Center for Health and Fitness will host two, one-day water safety classes on Tuesday, April 27th and Thursday, April 29th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

HealthPoint has teamed with the American Red Cross-Coastal South Carolina Chapter to provide this course to the community. The program will consist of classroom lectures and in-pool safety techniques, covering topics such as risks of drowning, general water safety tips, life jackets, rescue breathing/CPR, and emergency action steps among others. The class is intended for people ages nine and older. Registration is free, but class space is limited to 40 people. To register, contact the American Red Cross at 477-0020.
