Volunteers get locked up at the MDA event held at Hard Rock Cafe in Myrtle Beach
 / Angie Dones
The Muscular Dystrophy Association set up a mock jailhouse at Hard Rock Cafe in Myrtle Beach Wednesday, to raise money for people affected by MD in Horry County.
Local business owners, community leaders and other volunteers have donated their time today to be "locked up" by the MDA. The "inmates" then have to call on friends, family and business associates to get "bailed out."
The bail money is donated to the MDA, the event goes until 3:00 p.m. Next to the national Labor Day telethon, the lock ups across the country are the agency's second largest fundraiser.
Money raised provides local services, clinic visits, wheelchair and leg brace assistance and a summer camp for children with MD in the area.
