A Former probation officer in North Carolina, Katrina Milstein, 45, faces six criminal charges including possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and conspiracy to possess firearms by a felon.
Major Tommy Barnes with Lumberton Police tells NewsChannel 15 his officers searched Milstein's home last Thursday and seized guns, marijuana, drug-testing kits, probation officer shirts and jackets, a state probation officer badge and identification and more than $5,000 in cash.
Barnes says Milstein was using drugs and having an illegal sexual relationship with a convicted felon. Officials say there is a strict policy that probation officers not have any involvement with someone who is on probation.
According to Major Barnes, his officers stopped Milstein's car last month for a traffic violation. Someone else was driving the car, and Barnes says they found cocaine inside.
He says Milstein called police an hour after the stop to say her car had been stolen. Barnes says she lied as part of a cover-up.
We're told her last day on the job at a state probation officer was last Thursday.
Milstein is out of jail on a $60,000 bond.
