Press release as follows:

Florence, SC - Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina is expanding their mission services in Florence. On Monday, March 22, Goodwill will open doors to brighter futures by opening the doors to their new JobLink Center, located inside the Florence Goodwill retail store (1551 Second Loop Road). A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held at noon with representatives from the Florence Chamber of Commerce and the City of Florence.

Goodwill entered into a partnership with South Carolina Commission for the Blind, Experience Works and Florence Adult Education in an effort to streamline services for individuals in the community. "Often times the people that access Goodwill's job services are also in need of Work Keys and Work Core Employability Skills training, both certification programs that will be offered by Adult Education through the Florence JobLink Center", says Peggy Smith, VP, Employment Services for Goodwill Industries.

The JobLink Center will be open to everyone in the community and, in addition to the certification programs, will offer:

· Career coaching, job training and other employment placement services.

· The South Carolina Commission for the Blind will be available to provide job preparedness and computer training using special equipment for visually impaired individuals.

· Adult Education staff will be available to meet one-on-one with job seekers to assess needs and provide services based on the assessment.

· Experience Works representatives will be available to help low income seniors, with multiple barriers to employment, receive training in order to find jobs within their community.

"When people have economic independence, they tend to be happier, more confident and contribute more to their community," said Rick Shelley, Area Director of Workforce Development. "It is our mission to help every individual who walks through the doors of our JobLink Center in the Florence Goodwill store. We are excited to make a difference in the community."

Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina is a nonprofit social service organization whose mission is to help people achieve their full potential through the dignity and power of work.
