A Marlboro County man is under arrest after police say he shot a man then barricaded himself in his home.
Charles Johnson surrendered to police just after 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Officers say he shot Robert "Buddy" Strickland in the leg on Usher Street in McColl about two hours earlier.
Neighbors say he taunted police a few times during the standoff. "This is the first time I've ever seen anything like this happen. He just kept coming to the door saying, 'Y'all don't know me. Y'all gonna hear a big boom,' all that. The law kept telling us to back up." said neighbor Lewis Jackson.
Police charged Johnson with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. He could face more charges.
The victim is expected to be okay.
