Horry County Police officers are investigating an incident in the Longs area where shots were fired into a house and a local hair salon was damaged by fire.
Monday morning at 5:15, an officer from the Horry County Police Department saw Wilson's Barbershop at 8160 Hwy. 90 on fire. Horry County Fire Rescue was called, and officers went to the business owners' home to notify them about the fire.
When officers arrived, people in the home told them there were shots fired into the home. The victims were awoken by the shots and did not see anyone outside.
Detectives with the Horry County Police Department's Violent Crimes Section are now investigating the incident. The cause of the fire was determined to be suspicious in nature, and Horry County Fire Rescue investigators are assisting in the fire investigation.
Detectives are seeking information leading to the identity of any suspects involved in the incident.
