Marion County Sheriff Mark Richardson says deputies arrested Derek Jayson Brown, 24, of Marion, after officers conducted a search warrant at his home on East Bond Street.
The Marion County Combined Drug Unit and Gang Task Force charged him with trafficking 10-100 pounds of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana within proximity of a school.
Richardson says drug agents seized 13,440 grams of marijuana, with an estimated street value of $67,200 from Brown.
An undisclosed amount of currency was also seized.
Florence County Sheriff's Office, Marion County Sheriff's Office, Marion Police Department and SLED assisted with the arrest and search warrant.
The Drug Unit urges the citizens of Marion County to take a stand against illegal drugs and report any suspicious drug activity to the Marion County Combined Drug Unit. The Drug Unit can be reached by phone in confidence at 843-423-2056.
