Florence city and county officials unveiled some changes to a walking trail in a North Florence park.

The quarter mile long trail at Iola Jones Park is now paved.

In August, city and county leaders created the trail at the request of Betty Gregg. For years, she fought tirelessly for a walking trail saying it would help change the park's image, making it more of a family park.

Gregg says it will also help to keep them in shape. "I am so glad that we finally have a walking one here so the people can come and walk. It's really for fitness. A lot of us have health problems."

City and county officials plan to continue working together to beautify Iola Jones Park.
