Florence City Councilman Ed Robinson has more competition for the upcoming Democratic Primary Election in June.

Spencer Scott, the Chairman of the Florence Democratic Party, announced his candidacy for Florence District 2 Monday afternoon.

Robinson has represented that district for nearly 20 years. Scott says he believes the race won't be an easy win, but feels as if it's time for a new leader who will move Florence forward.

Pat Gibson-Hye has also announced a bid for the seat. No Republicans have announced intentions of running.
