(AP) -- FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Officials say a body found near a South Carolina marina is that of a Utah man missing since January.
Charleston County deputy coroner Judy Koelpin told The Post and Courier of Charleston on Thursday that dental records were used to confirm the identity of Rashid Mir of Spanish Fork, Utah.
The 74-year-old man had been missing since Jan. 24, when he was last seen aboard a 30-foot sloop docked at the marina. He had been staying on the boat and was considering buying it.
Authorities say they don't suspect foul play and think Mir fell into the water. His wallet, keys and cell phone were found on the boat.
The newspaper reported that Mir was a decorated pilot in Pakistan's air force who had a 30-year career as a commercial airline pilot.
